Architecture coloniale
Proposal of a PhotoBook on the Ivorian architectural heritage
The periodic documentation of colonial architecture is a means of valorization of this heritage.
Any conservation and promotion of cultural property requires prior knowledge and a review of the state of this heritage.
To work on the documentation of the architectural heritage of the Ivory Coast brings back to inventory this heritage and to provide old and recent information on this good.
Documentary research and field research are essential to carry out this documentation.
The project of realization of a photobook is thus an innovation which wants to be regular in the collection and the diffusion of data on the colonial architecture of Ivory Coast.
This project, which aims at the documentation and in parallel the valorization of the architectural heritage, will benefit the structures in charge of the heritage, the public; teachers, students, lovers of the culture and the book.
The coastal cities of Côte d'Ivoire, the pilot project area, are emerging tourist destinations.
Documenting the colonial architectural heritage, will allow, through this tourism, to have more visibility on these cultural goods and popularize them.
